Whitney Oaks is a larger community located within the city of Rocklin. The nearly 2,000 homes vary in style and size while a handful of gated villages can also be found nestled within the sprawling, rolling hills of the master-planned neighborhood. The area also encompasses Springfield at Whitney Oaks, a popular retirement community.

The Whitney Oaks Golf Club is the centerpiece of the community. The 6,800-acre course was designed by Johnny Miller and was recognized as the number one golf course in the area by Sacramento’s KCRA’s A-List voters. It offers an array of membership programs, as well as weekly specials (Tortilla Tuesdays in the grill and Family Golf on Sundays), and events (junior golf camp).

In addition to the Whitney Oaks Golf Club, residents have access to two community pools, numerous parks, and a community gym. The neighborhood is bike-friendly with wide streets and bike lanes. Large swathes of open area offer miles of hiking and biking trails. Though in a largely residential area, residents are always reminded of their native surroundings with large pockets of undeveloped land showcasing the region’s natural topography and accommodating wild turkeys, foxes, pheasants, geese, and deer.

As with many neighborhoods in the foothills, Whitney Oaks benefits from its close proximity to both the upscale and everyday shopping opportunities found in Roseville. There is also an endless array of man-made and natural playgrounds. Nearby activities range from hiking, biking and horseback riding to golfing, indoor go-karts, laser tag, and ice skating. The Yuba and American Rivers are also not far, as is the wintery snow-filled fun of Truckee and Lake Tahoe.
